Upcoming Spring 2011 Anime Spotlight: Deadman Wonderland

I don't think I have enough time to do season previews, so instead, I'll just feature upcoming anime which I know (meaning, I'm already a fan of its original/previous adaptation) or highly believe (meaning, it's just my gut feeling) are awesome. Enjoy~

DEADMAN WONDERLAND
デッドマン・ワンダーランド

Debuting on April 16, 2011
Ganta Igarashi has been convicted of a crime that he hasn't committed, and sent to a new, privately owned and operated prison, where the inmates are the main attraction in a modern day twist to the gladiatorial coliseums of ancient times. Throw in a healthy dose of weird little girl, some new-found super powers, and a little conspiracy theory, and you have Deadman Wonderland.

Kuroshitsuji II: Ciel in Wonderland

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is such a popular children's novel that it has been adapted to various media. From anime and manga adaptations along there's already quite a number of them, including the Kuroshitshuji series.
Even though it was pretty awkward for a boy to play Alice's role no matter how you look at it, this classic fits Kuroshitsuji very much. Ciel in Wonderland had been one of the most fun Alice's Adventures in Wonderland I had ever seen~

Durarara!! Episode 25 - ([Mostly Crazy] Love Love~)

Durarara!! has always been epic in everything it has. Quality doesn't drop even on their extra/ova episodes xD
Even if this is more of a fun-fun chapter, it had still done a wonderful storytelling, made us learn more about the characters, be amazed on the stunts and laugh out loud on its jokes.
This episode has been fun and awesome... yet very insane, haha! One of its supporting characters has been featuring some of the crazy stuff of the show... starting with the romantic couples~

Quick Impressions on Some Manga-Based Spring 2011 Anime

I usually check out the manga versions of upcoming anime in every season, provided that they are indeed based on the manga and I can get a copy of an English version. My impressions on the anime would usually be the same as my thoughts on the manga manga (since they're the same anywayz) unless the anime does major changes on the plot or execution/presentation.
So here goes my list, ranked from least liked to most liked (I didn't end up falling madly in love with any of them). I didn't include Deadman Wonderland and Ao no Exorcist in this list because I'm already familiar with those two since long ago.

Durarara!! - Episode 25 (Izaya + Shizuo Centric)

Oh I miss blogging DRRR!!~ Especially when I'm talking about my favorite characters, teehee~ Well, supposedly I'll be doing the post about my impressions on the episode in general first but... I can't get these two off my mind, haha!
Finally! We've got an actual Shizaya Shizuo versus Izaya showdown! Well, it didn't last long... no winner as usual.... but at least it's longer then usual... and double the fun and awesome =D

Belle (Retelling of "Beaty & the Beast"): Too Much of "Beauty", Not Much of "Beast"

Once Upon a Time Series:
Belle - A Retelling of "Beauty and the Beast"
By Cameron Dokey
Belle: My name means Beauty.... but I don't have The Beauty like my sisters do. I don't deserve my name.
Belle's Mother: *sigh* My daughter, Belle, has become unlady-like. She's spending so much time in wood carving.
Belle's Father: And pretty good at that too. *winks at Belle* She can see the heart of the wood when she touches it. I managed to get hold of a branch of the Heartwood Tree, which is an enchanted tree she's very curious about.
Beast: But no one should take anything from the Heartwood Tree. Whether you were lying or not old man, you must bring the one who could see the heart of the tree to me.
Belle's Father: What have I done.....
Belle: It's alright, Papa. I will do what the Beast wants for you.
RATING: C (AVERAGE!)
FAVORITISM: 2 Hearts ---> DISLIKE (3 Hearts to Dominic x April)

Honestly, the main reason why I picked this up because I find fairy tale adaptations absolutely irresistible, hehe.

"Belle" isn't a bad novel if you want to know the story of this popular tale with less tragedy and in a different perspective; just don't expect a romantic fairy tale... since it's more of a growing up story with a nice family theme. Moreover, you can only expect Beauty's story in this, not Beauty's and the Beast's.
