[ Fangurling ] Akagami no Shirayukihime Volume 6 Goodies

Today, K3 just spoiled me with something beyond adorable xD So what happened?
Obi shall tell you:

Akagami no Shirayukihime - Chapter 20

Before I begin, I see advertisements of the release of Seishun Kouryakuhon volume 2! w00t!

I just realized that if you exclude Obi in the list of dudes having a crush on Shirayuki, she's in the middle of a love triangle. And both of them are even of royal status!
Though of course, because this ain't your typical shoujo series, it's not your usual love triangle either: she's in a canon relationship with one of them, and the other is actually trying to avoid her because he's very obedient to his promise to the official boyfriend. And ironically, in this chapter, she's currently spending time with the one who's quite scared to be seen together with her. And no, she's not flirting around. Haha, phew.

The red-haired beauty leaves Clarines.
Haruka came along with the departees, to do a crash course on etiquette.
Before leaving, Shirayuki takes something from Zen with a promise to return it.
The three had set off for Tanburn.

The first prince warns the second prince of the lady's change when she returns.
The second prince's escorts worry if things might become troublesome later.

The travel to the capital took days.
When they finally arrived at the castle, Prince Raji greeted them with a smile.
But he finally revealed how he really felt when they were left alone.

He invited her as his way of thanking her.
However he doesn't know if he has any right to spend more time with her because of the incident.
But Shirayuki gave him a second chance.

Prince Zen makes himself busy on investigating about the boy.
While the boy.... decides to go to Tanburn.

[ PRINCE RAJI APPRECIATION CORNER ]
Raji may have been such an idiotic jerk in the first chapter, but his recent appearances had made him soooooooooooooooooooooooo lovable.


Some things to appreciate/compliement/like/love about Raji (at least to me):

1. HE IS FUNNY (part 1)
There's something wrong if Raji is acting like a refined and behaved Prince. LOLz
2. HE IS FUNNY (part 2)
Like Zen, he is rich in amusing expressions in different emotions. LOLz
3. HE IS FUNNY (part 3)
He's the comedic type of tsundere. He so wants her to come but he's in despair when she did. Yeah, tsunderes are complicated.
4. HE IS ABUSABLE (part 1)
It's fun to make him appear like an idiot or troubled. His servant is doing a good job.
5. HE IS ABUSABLE (part 2)
His servant speaks up for him. For some reason, it makes Raji look shameful, and it's funny.
6. HE IS TOTALLY CUTE
And his mole's sexy. 'nuff said. Fufu.
7. HE KEEPS PROMISES SERIOUSLY
He swore, and never broke it until Zen and Shirayuki themselves let him do so.
8. HE HAS A SENSE OF GRATITUDE
He invited an "ordinary" girl to an exclusive party just to thank her for the medical treatment.
9. HE IS AFRAID OF ZEN
For certain he wouldn't be able to relax at all if the official boyfriend's around. Fufu.
10. HE IS STILL IN LOVE WITH SHIRAYUKI
It's not as obvious as Zen, but still obvious. For certain it's not only because of her rarity anymore. Any guy who likes Shirayuki has taste. Hehe.

I LOVE PRINCE RAJI!!!!!!!!! xD

I really doubt he'll do any harm to Shirayuki this time. He's now more respectful towards her.... and is even slightly scared of her, haha! So if something bad happens during Shirayuki's stay, I doubt it'll be Raji's fault.

Mitsuhide's hinting the possibility of something weird to happen in the future though. I think if something does happen, whether bad or not, the mysterious boy might have something to do with it:

He's going to return to Tanburn! I'm curious on what will happen when he and Shirayuki finally meet ^^ Please don't stay mysterious for too long! It's killing me xD

Oh yeah, the other person that Mitsuhide's concerned about is Obi:

It's giving us a hint that Obi might also be in love with Shirayuki. Well, with his look upon seeing his present still on Shirayuki's hair, it could be interpreted as such (even if it wasn't a blush). My guess is that it's new to him for someone to use treasure his present. He doesn't know though that Shirayuki's main reason for wearing it more often is because Zen said it looks nice on her. Ehehe.

But it honestly doesn't matter whether Obi has romantic feelings for Shirayuki or not, because as I've been fangurling about for so many times (I would love to mention it again): he's still more of a Zen x Shirayuki shipper than a Shirayuki suitor, haha!

- He didn't tell Shirayuki the reason why he was chosen to escort her. He respects if Zen doesn't want to tell her, or not tell her yet.
- He doesn't like forcing her to be by her side (He's hoping for her not to mind him accompanying her). He has no plans in doing so without Zen's permission either (I don't think it'll bother him at all if he lost in the duel)
- He tells her that Zen was the one who wants to accompany her the most. He emphasizes that Zen is still the one who values her the most.
- He doesn't say that he just wants to protect Shirayuki. He said that if Zen couldn't protect her, he'll do it in his place.
- He is disappointed when his master fails in following his love advices. I'm sorry Obi, Zen's an idiot. LOLz

Seriously, no matter how I look at it, he loves Zen and Shirayuki almost equally. He treats them like his best friends even (He calls his mistress cute very casually; and he scolds his master casually too, LOLz) but also their loyal servant (in everything~).

No, Mitsuhide. I don't think he's the type of guy to talk about his feelings. It might no longer be necessary because it's already too obvious in his actions. Teehee. But it'd still be nice to hear about it though (for confirmation). Hopefully that'll come soon~

Now about other characters in the chapter:

:: IZANA :: He is the sadistic type of older brother because he finds pleasure in teasing Zen and also in seeing his miserable face. LOLz And about what he told to Zen.... it's so vague. He's knows something.... whatever it is... hopefully it gets revealed soon!!!! So many mystery on a fairy tale series, ahaha!
:: HARUKA :: It's amusing that the person who was once very against Shirayuki is now helping her out. Fortunately, he still spoils Zen and Zen could still handle him. Haha!
:: KIKI :: What she has been saying might really be foreshadowing. Though I'm very curious on what could possible halt Shirayuki's return.
:: MITSUHIDE :: Telling his master to rest... daaaw. Haha! And it looks like he has become pretty close to Obi~
:: MIHAYA :: What the hell happened to him?! =_= Hopefully he'll have a bigger role on the next chapter. This chapter seems to be more on Raji (among the non-main characters)

And of course......



HELLO MY DEAR FAVORITE!!!! OF COURSE I'M STILL MADLY IN LOVE WITH YOU xD LOLz!

I thought Shirayuki would only be out for two weeks.... but if you count the travel time, it turns out that she'll take a month! So yes, unlike other boyfriends, Zen can survive without being super close to the leading lady for a month. And no, he'll be busy with something useful (going "workaholic" mode even) instead of going emo or sulking about being separated from her for quite some time. He even had a happy face when they parted, unlike what Izana had anticipated.

Why can't other shoujo bishies be like Zen? Hehehehhehe......

And the most romantic moment they had in this chapter is when Shirayuki asked for something that belongs to Zen. It's her way of promising that they'll definitely be seeing each other again. Zen's smile.... daaaawww~

*sniff* Yeah, I'm crying once again.... from too much happiness. No other shoujo manga had been this wonderful in every single chapter for me. Hehe.

Hetalia World Series - Episode 12

HOORAY FOR MORE HISTORICAL STRIPS!!!!

AND THIS EPISODE HAS FEATURED THE BAD TOUCH FRIENDS TRIO!!!! AND THEY LOOK SO AWESOME!!! YAAAAAAAAYY!!!!

The whole episode is based on the Maria Theresa and the War of Austrian Succession strips. Some interesting historical articles related to it could be read here or here.

Did they intentionally make Roderich's boss look and sound similar to Elizaveta? xD It's like it would become difficult to imagine Roderich to be with any other woman aside from her or someone who looks similar to her xD Hehehe...

Speaking of look alikes, one of Gilbo's men looks like him too:

This is Zen from Akagami no Shirayukihime and it's an official illustration of Zen wearing some pirate costume that surprisingly looks similar to Gilbo's military uniform during this episode's timeline xD They look so alike that.... Gilbo's just the older and more insane/naughty/wild version of Zen xD Hehehehe... and of course they're both my top favorite characters xD (Arthur and Gilbo are a tie to me)

GILBO USED GILBIRD AS HIS MESSENGER xD AND IT'S CIRCLING AROUND AS THE RECEIVERS READ IT xD LOLz
GILBO IS THE BEST LOVE LETTER WRITER. He greets, congratulates, threatens, annoys, and gives love in just one letter. BWAHAHAHAHHA xD I can't stop laughing that the "From Gilbert WITH LOVE" is has been emphasized in the anime xD

Because of this, this made Roderich anxious:

Roderich: Gilbert has occupied my vital regions!!!
The infamous "vital regions" line xD Bwahahahahahahahahaahahha!!!!!!! It has made the fans worldwide laugh so hard, and hearing it doesn't make it less funny xD Hahahahaha!


His citizens are more concerned about the music than the war though. Even Roderich agrees with them.

But their empress persuaded them to focus on the war thing.


So the war between these European nations begin. I don't get why the anime still censors Holland even though he has a character design now.
About the narrator of this episode, I love the part when she tried to sound rough to imitate Glbo's attitude xD Cool cool~


It's three against three, but for now we'll only get to see Roderich with one of his allies, who is Arthur. This punk would fight alongside with anyone who are enemies of Francis xD Hahahaha! I love this observation of Himaruya of the WTFLOLzness of history xD Hehe.

Now about the ending theme, as expected, it was Kiku's turn!

Oh please please it's the turn of the Allied Forces next time xD Or at least don't reuse the same image =D

I have updated the Character Songs Post with Hetalia Ondo (a movie theme song sang by the main characters) and Grandpa Rome's song, movie version. The first one is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE while the second one is TOTALLY HILARIOUS!!!! xD I hope more characters follow Gilbo's example on making songs that are rock/metal, hahahahaha!

Akagami no Shirayukihime - Chapter 19

FINALLY THE WAIT IS OVER!

And we are even given a very very wonderful colored spread with the main cast! Absolutely wonderful!

And pfft! Just when did an AnS chapter disappoint me? xD

The second prince and his loyal servant are suspicious of the mysterious boy's intentions.
There's a possibility that the boy might attempt to kidnap the redhaired beauty.
Zen tells her not to worry about it all by herself.

Afterwards the first prince called for the couple.
He informs them that Shirayuki was invited to stay at her hometown's castle for 14 days.
He orders her to prepare for the party and be ready to leave after a week.
Zen approves of letting Shirayuki leave under one condition: an escort that he trusts should accompany her.
Izana approve under Shirayuki's consent.

Zen reports the talk to his subordinates.
He assigns Mitsuhide has Shirayuki's escort.

Shirayuki practices dancing for the party.
Obi dropped by, informing her of his task, which is to look for the boy together with Mihaya.
He tells her to let him and his master handle the matters related to Mihaya and the boy.

One night, his subordinates fetched Zen when he was practicing.
Obi challenged him to a duel: whoever wins shall be Shirayuki's escort.
Zen had snapped Obi's sword into two; but Obi had managed to make Zen lose his sword with just a kick.
Zen accepts defeat and assigns him as Shirayuki's escort.

Zen visits Shirayuki's room afterwards.
They had a short chit chat, updating each other on the activities they've done recently.
They separated after Zen gave her a tight embrace and when they bid each other "See you, tomorrow."

So instead of focusing on the issue presented beforehand, a new problem arises! Thanks for nothing Izana for making their situation more complicated:

Izana may not be saying in that directly but he's hinting the obvious that he doesn't want his brother and Shirayuki together. Our main characters aren't stupid enough not to see through that. But as if Izana's objection can stop them... and as if they'll be the type to rebel against Izana to that extent. If this was typical shoujo, by now either Zen or Shirayuki would be angsting with something like this "Prince Izana doesn't want us together. Maybe it might be better if we separate for good even if it will pain me so much. It's for his/her sake. I might not be worth of him/her. Boohoo"

Oh thank goodness this isn't typical shoujo....

Back to Izana, his reasons of not being supportive of the couple are not yet clear/revealed. But I firmly believe that whatever it is, it's for Zen's sake. It might not be something like a twisted brotherly complex as I had hoped for, but elder siblings express their love, care, and protection in different ways xD *an older sibling herself*

I also think it's safe to assume that he doesn't particularly dislike Shirayuki either. Few chapters back he has even acknowledged that she is a pretty impressive women. I think he could have even be fond of her if she wasn't Zen's lover. Hehe.
Because of Izana's actions lately and his bring a Raji x Shirayuki shipper, it makes him so villain-like.... but though he obviously wants Zen and Shirayuki to break up and be separated for good, he doesn't do drastic actions such as punishing Zen, or imprisoning/exiling Shirayuki, or any other cruel way to make them in a situation of star crossed lovers. All he did was just have Shirayuki return to her hometown for just two weeks and even gave her a week to prepare instead of making her leave as soon as possible. Characters who are against the relationship of the main couple aren't usually that considerate. I love how untypical villainish!Izana is~

Moreover:

This scene made me more convinced that Izana doesn't like Zen being sad. He is aware of how much of a worry freak Zen is when it comes to stuff dealing with Shirayuki do he didn't hide that topic from him. He isn't really the type to torture his brother just because of a relationship he doesn't approve of. He'll discourage them greatly, but he won't force them. It's a smarter move actually, to either test the strength of their relationship or to make them separate for good. It's easier to make separate for good if they had done so willingly and are happy to.

As expected of Zen's brother, he's also an awesome character xD I think there are also a lot of Izana fans out there. Heck, Nari Kusakawa, mangaka of Recipe for Gertrude and Two Flowers for the Dragon, even made a fanart of him:

Alright, we have the anti Zen x Shirayuki did, now let's talk about the Zen x Shirayuki shipper.... who is none other than Obi!!! xD

What he acually said:
"If you interfere with those two, I'll send you back p that mountain choking on that scarf of yours."
Bottomline is the same xD

I think that line points it out so much that he loves BOTH his master and his master's girl. He absolutely supports their relationship that he will go against anyone who will get in the couple's way. He may have romantic feelings for Shirayuki, and whether he would be able to realize it or not, Zen is equally important to him that I can't imagine him forcing his feelings to Shirayuki. Besides, if he does that, it would make both of them hurt, and since he loves both of them, he wouldn't let that happen, would he? xD

But let me make this clear, I'm not against Obi x Shirayuki. It's so cute after all~ I trust Sorata-sensei to handle that kind of love triangle, if ever there'll be such.

And Pfft! No! I'm not exactly shipping Obi x Zen either though I admit it's fun to joke about that. Bwahahaha! They're simply in a deep master + servant relationship. Obi has given Zen his devotion while Zen has given him his trust. He trusts Obi enough that jealousy didn't get in the way that made him decide to make Obi Shirayuki's escort.

About their little duel, I don't think it's simply a "whoever wins becomes Shirayuki's escort" thing. It's more of "whoever wins is more capable of protecting Shirayuki". Zen, like other boyfriends, would prefer to be his lover's number one bodyguard xD However, he's a prince, and he has princely duties to take care of. Moreover, can he? Is he the most suitable bodyguard who can watch over his girl 24/7?

During his talk with his brother, it was quick for him to realize that he can't go all the way to another kingdom just to accompany his girlfriend to a party because he has matters to deal with in his own as his country's prince. As for the second question, the match between the two had answered it. Zen may be skillful, but real danger and combat doesn't always fight fair. Just making your enemy lose his weapon doesn't conclude that it's your victory. Since Obi's more exposed to danger and it's his main job to be Shirayuki's protector anyway, why not let the more suitable guy do the bodyguard work? xD

I LOVE the idea of the leading guy accepting defeat on who will be doing the protecting job to other guys. He's not possessive. He has faith in his subordinates. He knows his responsibilities. He's aware of his limitations and weaknesses. And more importantly, HE CAN LIVE WITHOUT BEING CLOSE TO HIS MOST BELOVED IN JUST TWO WEEKS!

It's just two weeks after all. Not like they're gonna die from that. That's what other shoujo couples feel however =_=

But of course, he will be missing her very very very very very much that he would at least want to have a moment alone with her and do a huggle:

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW........ It's so romantic~ They even smiled to each other before they separated.... no angsty crying about them being separated for time time being, nor would they want to spend the whole night together like there's no tomorrow. And pfft, as if that could happen anyway.... Zen couldn't even enter her room:

Oh gosh, even with boyfriend authority, he still blushes like mad with just the idea of being in his girl's bedroom. Loverboy's still pretty innocent and conservative~ And he respects his girl's private territory, even he could just barge in with just his royal status. Oh I'm so happy that he's unlike some guy from a certain novel who is stalking his girl inside her room like every night =_=

Now let's go back to our favorite canon shipper xD It appears that he might not only be a Zen x Shirayuki fan because....

I didn't edit the dialogues because the original lines are amusing enough xD We know what Obi's "OH!" was about xD Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

He had that expression for three panels upon seeing Shirayuki wearing a pretty dress. No, it wasn't a blush. More of shock or disbelief. He's like a dude who is so shocked upong learning that his best friend's a girl xD I can't stop laughing at him xD

And oh Shirayuki, I can understand your difficulty in learning how to do those dances x_x But at least she learned after a week.... while my illness has never been cured. It feels like a curse. Dancing hates me....

Anyway, more fun stuff with Obi! Mihaya wanted to be paid for his info or at least be employed by Zen, right? I had mentioned in the previous chapter impressions post that I want Zen to employ him. This shows why he should be:

Alright, I look forward Obi's and Shirayuki's adventures xD I prefer more Zen screentime (it would've been more fun if he had come along) but I know Raji's gonna entertain me. And Obi's awesome and fun in whatever he does and says xD *sigh* now when is August going to arrive x_x

Akagami no Shirayukihime - Chapter 18

Of course it should be! We finally get to see Akagami characters in the cover!!! Kyaaaa!! Zen and Shirayuki look so wonderful~
Oh yeah, my favorite colors by the way are Blue and Silver. Now see the dominant colors in Zen on that image. SEE? Do you still need to wonder why Zen is my favorite . . . .ohohohohoho . . ..

One day, a young man requested to speak with the second prince of Clarines.
He got what he asked for, but as soon as His Highness Zen had seen the young man...
The prince told his most trusted retainer, "THROW HIM OUT!".
It is not very usual for this prince to be openly hostile.
But the reason for the rudeness was because the prince had recognized the young man.
He's none other than the bandit who had once kidnapped the prince's love.
But the criminal insists on seeing Shirayuki, promising information that even Zen would be concerned with.
Upon knowing this request, naturally Shirayuki felt uneasy to see the face she doesn't want to see.
But the guy even went through Zen to speak to her... there must be more to this.
So Shirayuki showed up the the young man.
Obi is on his guard, after acknowledging that this stranger must be an enemy.
Zen is naturally on his guard as well . . . on really close guard.
The guy introduces himself as Mihaya, and he begins the conversation by asking if Shirayuki remembers a pretty boy from the past.
She does, but it wasn't the same person as Mihaya had in mind.
Mihaya says that there's a pretty guy looking for a redhaired girl.
Mihaya had confirmed that the pretty guy is talking about Shirayuki.
Mihaya told him Shirayuki's whereabouts; and the pretty guy shared some information as well.
Before Mihaya disclosed this, he asked for money or employment from Zen for the information exchange.
When they had an agreement, Mihaya reveals that the pretty guy is looking for a redhaired princess.
The chapter ends with Izana reading a letter from Tanburn... that is addressed to Shirayuki.

Okay . . .first I want to say: I KNEW IT!!!!

The title is already hinting that Shirayuki is indeed a princess. That's why I'm surprised why she isn't when I've read the story. I'm not sure if I should call this a twist because the title has been screaming the obviousness. Haha!
Okay, "princess" doesn't always have to be literal. When I read the manga, I figured that Shirayuki's a princess but not in a literal way. But it turns out that she is and now I don't have to worry about the drama of Zen not being able to marry Shirayuki because of social status issues. I knew it! This manga isn't gonna disappoint me! Most love stories involving princes that I know have a prince fall in love with a poor/ordinary girl or with another royalty. It's not that often do I see a COMBO of it. Hehehehe . . . . Awesome . . . awesome~

Oh yeah, I also love it that this series makes comebacks of characters from previous arcs. So I'm happy to see this dude again even though he had been such a jerk:

This series has some sort of magic wherein it can make characters that are despicable in the beginning so lovable in later chapters. There's Obi and Raji already to name a few. Then now we have Mihaya, the bandit who kidnapped Shirayuki for money. I'm happy that Shirayuki didn't have some annoying trauma with him (like most kidnapped shoujo females would have had). It's naturally for her to become uneasy on the idea of seeing him again, but she had already gotten over it. I think she has even forgiven him already. She can be in good terms with him like with Obi . . . though I doubt Mihaya would be the loyal servant type. He might make a good ally or friend, but I can't imagine him being as loyal as Obi yet. . . but please Zen, employ him too! Hehehehe....

So, about the bishie who is looking for Shirayuki:

I thought he was a girl at first . . .

and when I found out that he was a guy . . . he reminded me of Eco from +C: Sword and Cornett!!! (whome I had mistaken as a girl at first as well, wahehehe).
There are many possibilities of what his relationship with Shirayuki could be. He could've been her childhood friend, relative . . . or fiance!!! My bet is on the last choice . . . he seems so desperate to find her (and he didn't deny when the sailor teased him about liking her). . . I'm having theories that Shirayuki got separated from her real family when she was young . . . and her "grandparents" raised her when they found her. Waaahh . . . I think I'm just having delusions.

So Shirayuki is being wanted . . . and look who's happy:

WHY IZANA WHY??? Is it because Shirayuki could finally be separated from your dear brother???
Whatever your reason may be, I'm pretty sure it's something Zen won't like.
But if that has something to do with twisted brother complex, I will not complain. Wahehehe . . .

Oh yeah . . . speaking of Zen . . . gawd, loverboy's on the move:

The pervert's half asleep so when he sees Shirayuki he took her hand and . . . I don't know what the pervert is thinking. Hahahahha!!!!
He was trying to say something: "Shirayuki, there's something I want to tell you. From now on..."
DAMN IT ZEN!!! SAY IT ALREADY!!! WHAT IS IT??? THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!! AAAAAAAAHHHH!

Anywayz, loverboy made Shirayuki blush so much with what he's doing. When Mitsuhide noticed that Shirayuki was still blushing, he asked Zen if he had done something. AND YOU ARE SO RIGHT, MITSUHIDE AS USUAL!!! ZEN IS ALWAYS THE SUSPECT!!! HAHAHAHHA!!!!
But loverboy doesn't remember what he did. So Mitsuhide made a joke on asking if Shirayuki's the one who did somethign instead. Loverboy's reaction:

I'll never get tired of Zen's blushing face. Wahehehehe . . .I miss it loads. Blushing used to be more of his role but Shirayuki's doing that more often recently because of the things he has been doing. That's his job (the blushing). . . .bwaheheheh . . ..

But damn . . . how could one not blush on seeing this heartrob's smile?:

I don't think Zen was really on "overprotective boyfriend" mode though. Hehehehe. That's just a joke. If he was really being overprotective, he won't let Mihaya speak with Shirayuki at all. But well, I guess he had figured that whatever Mihaya is planning to tell, it's something that Shirayuki needs to know. What's important to Shirayuki will always be his priority, not his selfishness or jealousy or protectiveness. I love him. Hehe.

Oh man . . . thanks to this series . . .I 'm hyper on anything with the word "Snow White" (Shirayuki) now. Currently the novel I'm reading is entitled "Blood Red Snow White" by Marcus Sedgwick. It wasn't the Snow White I had expected (It wasn't referring to the fairy tale character after all) . . . but it's also a beautiful fairy tale. Also has a love story. Too bad no prince as awesome as Zen. Drats.
