[ Manga Discovery ] Mind Assassin

Mind Assassin
by Kazu Hajime

[ Demographic: SHOUNEN ]
An assassin that can erase memories was created during the war.
His grandson now works as a clinical doctor... but if his regular job won't be enough to help his troubled patients, he fulfills the role his grandfather once had.

(2 chapters read as of the date this blog entry was posted)

POTENTIAL: B- (PRETTY GOOD!) FAVORITISM: 3 Hearts (LIKE)

Motivation: (What Made Me Check It Out)
Such a cool title~ Psychological Assassins! That's something pretty new.
Curses: (What Seems to be Bad About It)
The hero revealed his power to a complete stranger too early (as if it's just something normal)... that particular patient accepted it pretty fast too. It's quite odd when normal characters acknowledge the supernatural too easily.
The bad guys confess too quickly too. Should every case end in one chapter?
There's no room for mystery and plot twists. Too bad.
Praises: (What Seems to be Good About It)
I think it's good that the main character does whatever he can to help his patients before relying on his supernatural ability.
And the assassin's "killing" method is pretty unique.
Bias: (What's Keeping Me Hooked to It)
The hero seems very nice and abusable... haha.
Psychologicla shounen and Asssassins... yessss =3
Fangirl: (What I Love in It)
I like the main character. For the supposedly "cool" type, he's the main source of comical scenes in the manga, hehe. And his interactions with the kid he's in charge of are so cute~
Nostalgia: (What It Reminds Me of)
Wild Adapter, Flat (the relationship between the main character and the kid with him; the boy's around Tokito's age but with Aki's mentality)
Overall:
A very interesting psychological shounen series. There might not be much violence in it (it doesn't need to, at least, not physically =P) but it does cover some serious issues.
It's pretty episodic for now, but I believe things will get more interesting and intriguing once we learn about Koyata's and the doctor's past.
This is fun to read... I really hope we'll be able to see more of this soon *_*
