[ OVERALL IMPRESSIONS ]

The story of this series is incredibly unique and creative! It's futuristic and surprisingly it's very believable and realistic! Things also get more and more interesting the more episodes you watch! Not all episodes had the cool acts, but when you get to see one, they are really really awesome! And of course there had been fun and hilarious parts too! It doesn't fail in the entertainment department! Also, storytelling had been done well! Full of mysteries in the beginning, then slowly some things become clear yet there are more questions that get raised! Not all of them had been resolved, because they had been saved for the movies. But still, it ended good.

The biggest selling point of the series are the production values. Animation is simply superb! Scenes had been greatly directed, story flow was good, and the music totally rocks! For a short series, it certainly had such great budget! Not to mention the cast had played their roles well.

No wonder it turned out to be so terrific!

However, like any other series, Eden of the East isn't immune to some flaws either. First one I'd like to take note of are the characters. The good sides are that the characters aren't stereotypical and even minor characters can fulfill a significant role. Sadly, aside from the main characters, the others didn't get much development. We don't even have enough background on them either!

I don't think the lack of episodes could be an excuse because they found time to add unnecessary stuff (like Akira's weird dream in one of the episodes). They also added some scenes that don't make sense (like the kiss) and they were somewhat just forgotten in the next episodes.

But putting those aside, overall it had been a very excellent series! It's a must-watch! It's not usual for an anime fan to encounter something this amazing!

yeah, it was a good ride..i agree that it wasn't flawless, nevertheless it delivered in places where other series failed...there were a lot of questions unanswered, and also the cast was no full..we only saw maybe half of the players...another thing i found confusing was the savings of the NEETs..like that's gonna change anything in Japan..whatever

really looking forward to see the two movies, because it gets interesting towards the end, when Juiz is moved to another place..who will win the game?
