New Flavors: Karneval

Karneval (Carnival)
by Mikanagi Touya
Nai searches for someone important to him, with only an abandoned bracelet as a clue. Gareki steals and pick-pockets to get by from day to day. The two meet in a strange mansion where they are set-up, and soon become wanted criminals by military security operatives. When Nai and Gareki find themselves desperate in a hopeless predicament, they encounter none other than the country's most powerful defense organization - "Circus"!! (Baka-Updates)

The title was actually enough to capture my interest. Hehe~ I thought it will have something to do with an actual carnival, wherein there will be some amusement shows and stuff. But it seems to be a carnival metaphorically after reading the plot and the chapters out so far. Ehehe~

Anyway, I find it really cool that the "secret powerful organization" is called "Circus". Art also looked really pretty and cute (those chibis! Kyaaaa!), and the plot seemed really really interesting. I like most Zero-Sum series anyway so I was confident that I will like this one. So of course I checked it out . . .

and I was hooked!

Story was really good and interesting! How events happened might be a little so-so and WTF in the first few chapters, but later chapters get better and more interesting! The art's also fantastic and especially on parts when characters do something cool. This manga also knows when to be serious and when to be silly. The jokes had been so crack! Haha~

The characters are so much fun~ Nai annoys me sometimes for being so helpless and stupid though . . . but later chapters reveal that there's actually a very good reason why he's like that. And thank goodness he's not 100% useless. Also, he could be freakin' adorable. He could also be extremely cute and moe. I can't help my desire to glomp him when he's saying something sweet. He's such a darling~

Other characters have been fun too. Especially Yogi! Haha! He cracks me up! I don't have a favorite so far, but I'm really liking the other main characters!

It's a very entertainment read! I'm tempted to cover this series in this blog but releases aren't that consistent (even the raw) so that might be difficult and confusing for me to blog. But I truly am addicted to this and will really be following it. Hehe~

It's highly recommended! Especially to ones who had appreciated a lot of Zero-Sum manga like me. And I guess fans of implicit shounen-ai might adore this too. Ah, I think those who enjoy reading stories with fantasy, action, mystery, and a little twisted horror perhaps may like this too. Though I have to warn you that it somewhat has mature content (e.g. prostitution, violence, etc.). But if you're fine with that, enjoy reading~

Carnival . . .circus . . . very attractive keywords for me.
